The HVAC/Sheet Metal Estimator for Airco’s Special Projects Division (SPD) is responsible for fully assembling all aspects of an estimate and drafting final proposals for both prime contract bids as well as subcontract bids via design/build and plan/spec delivery methods. Utilizing the plan/ spec delivery method, the SPD HVAC/Sheet Metal estimator needs to be proficient in analyzing project plans to derive material and labor costs, identify subcontractor scope, and be able to comprehend trade specifications and applicable general conditions of a project manual. The design/build delivery method will require the estimator to conceptualize scope by reviewing site visit videos/pictures, collaborating with internal engineers, and reviewing simplistic sketches in order to form a basis of cost. Communication with Project Managers, Subcontractors and General Contractors are conducted with the highest levels of integrity.
